I was really moved by a particular line in the article "Goody Two Shoes". This line says: "Sometimes you have to change something else in your life in order to go further." As a college student I have struggled in my major as a musician. I often wonder if I am making the right choice, following my heart, or trying to please others. For a year and a half I thought I was making the wrong decisions. Recently I realized I was making the correct choices. Sometimes I feel like everyone around me might be a better musician than me. I wonder if I even have what it takes to make it in the real world. However, during a performance, a professor told me the most important thing that I knew I needed to hear. She said "It doesn't matter how many times you have to redo something. Every time you redo anything in life, take one lesson with you. Think on your feet- think sharp." Now I know that it is okay to keep trying! If you don't succeed at first, don't give up, try harder the next time.
