what is relevant?

Blogs have so many ideas that it is hard to pick what is the most important persuasion technique in a blog. To me, the two most important ones are Authority and Consistency. I think authority is important because people want to read something from credible people. Authority can also help with consistency. A reader will trust a person with authority more than a person who doesn't have any credibility at all. This then leads to people maybe listening to the credible blogger's call for action. Having authority will persuade readers to do things just because the writer is credible. Consistency was a very interesting topic to learn about. The video's example of consistency was about having an individual do a small task first, like putting up a sticker in their window then having them do a bigger task like putting up a sign in their yard. It was easier for the group to do the bigger task once they have already done the small task. This is more effective rather than going straight to the big task. This is why being credible would add to consistency. If a credible source calls for action, especially a small task, more people would do the task.  I think most bloggers use pathos to get more readers connected to their blogs at first. Many people read blogs that they are interested in or share similarities with. I feel that pathos would be what most bloggers use because of this. I think traditional essays use a fair amount of logos and ethos. People want to read from a credible source but also want to know facts of why these sources are credible.
